We are the part of a movement of earth children that strive to find a balance in life between beauty, adventure, existence and caring for our Earth.
 

Storm Lahiff created Rebel and the Gypsy to be a space where beauty lives in harmony with Mother Nature, a space where free spirits from diverse cultures can come together in an all inclusive environment to rejuvenate their souls without destroying the earth.

Rebel and the Gypsy is a space for these beautiful souls to chill and be pampered in a relaxing environment that focus on them, their little time out from the world.

We will always provide natural based and organic (where possible) products and colours for our clients.
We will only provide products and colours that go through rigorous testing, that are cruelty free, contain no petrochemicals or harmful ingredients with minimal effect on the environment, with certified organic and wild harvested ingredients where possible.

Being a part of Rebel & the Gypsy means that you believe in protecting our planet, you are adventurous, artistic, a free spirit, you are kind, you want to help others and believe that all people should be judged by the content of their character not by the colour of their skin, their background or their sexual preference.

At Rebel and the Gypsy it is so important for us to provide an ethical and sustainable environment, we do this by;
 

Lighting

• Led lighting throughout the studio.

• We turn off all lights when not in use.

 Water usage

• Water saving taps on basins

• Laundry only done with a full load

• All water is filtered to remove impurities

​

Cleaning products

• We use a natural refillable washing liquid for all towels.

• A natural refillable liquid for the dishes.

• Compostable bin liners.

• Hand sanitizer is refillable.

• Bathroom soap is refillable.
   

Drinks served

• Fair trade coffee.

• Coffee pods recycled through Nespresso

• Organic loose leaf teas (no toxic tea bags).

Products

• None of our products test on animals, have petro- chemicals or harsh chemicals.

• Organic refillable shampoo, conditioner, leave in moisturiser and a multi use styling product.

• Refillable natural based curl product range

• Plastic free bottles available for a range of products.

• We only use company’s that are environmentally conscious.

Colours

• Certified Organic natural colours

• PPD free colours and Ammonia free options.

• Low tox colours.

Recycling

• Everything that can be recycled is.

• All hair related products are recycled through TerraCycle.

Plants

• We fill our studio with plants to filter the air for you.

• A space where your stylist cares about you and listens to your needs.

• Green is related to the heart Chakra;

Furniture

• Our studio is made with up-cycled furniture and handmade shelving.

•  The cutting chairs are second hand and up-cycled by a local metal designer to an ergonomic design, allowing the stylist to work upright, not in a curved position to reduce back discomfort.        

• The wash basins are second hand and up cycled.          

• The front waiting lounge is second hand and has been up-cycled.

• The makeup cabinet is second hand and up-cycled.

Artisans

• We support and sell artists who make handmade products.

• Our front window is painted by a local artist, Louise Tait.

Promoting self sufficiency and sustainability

• We sell seeds from a little family company so can grow your own food at home.

• We encourage refill products.

​

The studio

• We try and keep our space with good healthy juju for your wellbeing, chilled out music and uplifting natural scents.    

Electricity

• The music is played from rechargeable speaker.

• The payment station is rechargable.

• All electrical switches are turned off when not in use.

• The hot water system is turned off overnight.

Less paper

• Receipts, quotes and invoices are all digital.
